We apply proactive strategies from conception in order to avoid cost over-runs and delays. Appropriate resources are allocated and measures implemented prior to the start of the project. The result is a satisfied client, savings for both parties and a smoother project delivery
Health & Safety
It is the policy of Skyline Builders Corp. that its operations be carried out with the greatest regard for the health and safety of all workers and in compliance to the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA).
Management believes that safety and efficient production go hand-in-hand. Every effort will be made to prevent injury to our employees by taking all possible steps to improve working conditions and practices. In order to ensure the safety of our workers, the company has developed a health and safety program manual with company policies and procedures that everyone must follow at all times. To enforce these procedures, management will make routine checks of the work site and give orientations to workers.
Skyline Builders operates in conformity with safety laws, regulations, codes and standards to ensure the safety and protection of all those working in our operations. All workers are also expected to comply with the law, regulations, and company job requirements. It is our expectation that management, supervision, and employees work together for the continuous improvement of our work environment, our culture, and the ultimate goal of operating incident free. Safety shall not be sacrificed for production but rather, it shall be considered an integral part of quality requirements, cost reduction and job efficiency. Every supervisor shall be aware of the safe work execution tasks demonstrated by other employees under their supervision.
Our incident prevention program must have the co-operative efforts of both the workers and management in order to be successful. Everyone must help recognize and eliminate hazards as they are found. With the daily commitment and support of all employees, we can work together as a team to reduce job hazards and maintain an efficient and safe operation.
Our Story
Skyline was founded by Julio Castro, a graduate of the Bachelor of Technology in Construction Management Program, a 4-year CIOB & CIQS accredited program, at George Brown College. Prior to pursuing a higher education, he worked in the high rise residential sector for 8 years, taking on the role of a foreman midway through. He has also worked for 3 different major general contracting and construction management companies in the City of Toronto and the GTA with projects ranging from $1M up to $320M in value. The projects were in the transportation, institutional, both high-rise & low-rise residential and commercial sectors including Pioneer Village Steeles West TTC Station, Etobicoke General Hospital, Mississauga Condominiums, Lofts & Townhomes, and a Mercedes Benz Dealership respectively, to name a few.
Julio has always been passionate about construction and his dream was to open his own business to provide outstanding construction services to the community in hopes that they would choose his brand to deliver their envisioned projects.
Having worked for a company that was awarded the silver award for Canada’s Safest Employer, Julio understands the importance of safety in the workplace and exemplary leadership. He has volunteered at at the Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Toronto, Habitat for Humanity and at the League of Champions for Safety in the workplace. Having received the Michael Cooke Leadership award and the George Brown College Leadership award, he is determined on leading this company to success and to deliver a quality product at final completion
Today, Julio is leading Skyline Builders to provide construction services in both the Residential and Commercial sectors. Skyline is currently active in the delivery of Design-Build, Construction Management & General Contracting forms of delivery, executing and utilizing a number of CCDC type contracts to bring properties to occupancy.
